Ethics

It's no secret that Albany is a cesspool of corruption, but we must understand that it is responsible for every major public policy failure of our day.  Whether you are taking about the role of money in our elections that allows Big Pharma, Education Profiteers, and Gas/Oil Companies to have an unprecedented amount of influence over our state government - or just blatant forms of bribery that we witnessed in the conviction of Joseph Percoco, Todd Howe, and Peter Kelly.

I have spent the last 7 years fighting the corruption behind CPV - I know the games these corporations play, I know how they get away with it.

1. We have to start by getting money out of politics once and for all by signing on to Public Financing of Elections.  I'm proud to sign on to the Bill drafted by Legendary Civil Rights Activist and New York Attorney General candidate, Michael Sussman and if elected I will sponsor it in the Senate.

2. We have to create an independent commission for investigating ethics violations that has actual enforcement powers.  I have committed to being a co-sponsor of Senator Liz Kreuger's Anti-Corruption Amendment.

3. We need much more comprehensive anti-corruption legislation that must ban elected officials from profiting off of any decision they make in that role - whether directly or indirectly.
